Recycling is more important than ever before to citizens in the City of Morgan Hill. There is a pressing need to preserve our environment, save natural resources and reduce the amount of garbage going to landfills.

Collection Information

Service Schedule
All recycling, compost and garbage containers need to be placed at the curb or roadside the night before your service day or by 6:30 a.m. on your service day. Remember that collection times may vary.

Recycling Collection
Recycling is collected biweekly. When you begin collection service, you will receive a calendar that informs you which week your recycling is picked up, A or B week.

Yard Waste and Food Scrap Collection
Yard waste and food scraps are collected weekly.

Special Collection Programs

Bulky Item Collection
If you have a large, bulky item such as a mattress, refrigerator, or old sofa that needs to be picked up, please contact us for a price estimate and to schedule a bulky item collection.

Extra Garbage and Recycling Vouchers
Every May and November, you will receive two free vouchers to the San Martin Transfer Station. One voucher may be used to drop off garbage such as painted wood, furniture, and other large items that do not fit into your garbage can. The second voucher may be used to drop off recyclable items such as untreated wood, concrete, metal, and two electronic items, such as a television or computer monitor. Please read the vouchers carefully before using them.

Street Sweeping
Street sweeping in Morgan Hill occurs every other week. Please move your car by 6:00 a.m. on street sweeping day. Contact us if you are not sure of your street sweeping day.
